My name is Carolina Franco. I'm an architect and urban planner and I've been with Tractebel since 2019.
I'm based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, where I’m the leader of the Urban Architecture team. We develop architecture and urban projects of various types and scales, such as institutional buildings (schools, churches, etc.), administrative buildings in industrial complexes and urban projects.
Recently, one of our biggest challenges was the development of fire and panic safety designs for an industrial area of approximately 150,000 m2.
In my career at Tractebel, it is essential to have an entrepreneurial attitude, critical sense, flexibility and, above all, creativity to adapt to the company's dynamism. We’re always looking for new ways of design approaches and tools that allow us, increasingly, to develop projects that exceed customer expectations by innovating and improving our way of designing.
The introduction of the BIM philosophy into our designs is a great example.
2020 brought significant changes for our team, which is why we had to reinvent ourselves and adapt to new work habits. This entire context provided me with great professional development and pushed me to be more direct and objective in my relationships with our team members and other stakeholders.
